Balance vs Change

OK, so I'm in a season in my life where everything is changing. I mean everything. You name it, odds are something is happening. I've determined that this IS good thou! God is changing me to be more like Him, and conforming me to His image. With that being said, I pose these questions to my followers:

What are your priorities? How do you balance a busy lifestyle? More importantly, how do you adapt to the curve balls God throws you?

I'll respond this weekend with an update of the wedding plans to date! Love you all!

  1. From Endurance's Perspective- Priorities are the things that are important that must stay at the focus of your planning so you won't get off track. Learning balance is by far one of the hardest but amazing lessons I believe we learn in life and maturity. I believe we are always learning about some level of balance. Once you cross one bridge and learn how to organize in one area something new comes up and you have to fit it all in. I have found that really staying clear of God's direction can help with setting priorities in life. If not careful we could miss the mark because we have our plans and agenda that we want to follow. I believe that if we mediate on the fact that God can cover us and help us endure through any situation by seeing it from his perspective we can better accept those curve balls. (It's rough on a sista...when they come and you wasn't prepared) I'm learning too and in my current season learning to Totally Depend on God and his leading even when it's weird to my flesh and natural way of doing things helps in a great way. It's a lesson we are all learning believe me! I will be praying that we all fall in line with God's will allowing him to order our very steps and align our lives with his ultimate plan. We can do it*

  2. Let me first say that i am in NO WAY an expert on this. I only have experience because I've been failing at it for years lol.

I've learned two important things along the way.

1)Make sure your busy schedule includes things that re-fuel you. For me, I know that I get life from quality time with a small group of Christian brothers, probably between 4 and 8. I make sure it's a part of the hectic life.

2)Literally keep a calendar. This has been a basic but crucial thing for me. I get talked about for having a paper calendar in 2010 lol, but it keeps everything in view, in advance.

As far as curve balls...I'm not really sure. A couple months ago, I started saying (yes outloud) to myself "If I wasn't slacking today, and something didn't get done...then it just wasn't supposed to get done today." Takes a boat load of stress off of me.

  4. I think that family is a big factor that keeps me balanced. Not just your blood family but your family of friends who keep you accountable and your church family. I also agree with Eric... I've been able to keep my calendar on my phone and it keeps me aware of what is going on... But change is ALWAYS good.. okay that's all.. I'm still learning! LOL
